  1. Golf carts are motor vehicles. Seat belt, child seat, open container, and DWI laws apply.
  2. The beach is a city street.
  3. Operator needs a valid driver’s license or operator’s permit.
  4. City streets with a posted speed of 35 mph or less, unless the city restricts the street.
  5. No Highway 361 south of Avenue G.
  6. Cross a street over 35 mph only at an intersection, perpendicular to that street. Use the city’s Highway 361 crossings map.
  7. Move right and yield to faster vehicles.
  8. No sidewalks, parks, playgrounds, school grounds, or other walk-only public areas.
  9. No dunes or protected beach vegetation.
  10. Everyone stays in a passenger seat while moving. No lap riding.
  11. A privately owned cart needs a City of Port Aransas golf cart license plate on public streets.
  12. A city beach parking permit is required to park on the beach.
